Vivien DeWitt Lane, 82, of Florence, SC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 18th, 2023, with his loving wife by his side at his home after a brief battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Mizpah Baptist Church, Florence. The family will welcome friends and family for visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church before the service. Interment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
He was the son of the late Francis Marion Lane and Bernice Tomlinson Lane of Timmonsville, SC. He was a beloved, faithful member of Mizpah Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and on several committees. He spent time daily reading his Bible and studying his Sunday School lessons. He worked in the automotive sales industry for many years. He was a loving father and grandfather.
Surviving is his loving wife of 60 years, Jeanette Harrelson Lane of the home; and son, Stephen DeWitt Lane of Florence; daughter, Lynn Lane Gleaton (David) of Lexington; daughter –in- law, Wendy Grice Lane of Myrtle Beach. He was the proud Grandfather of Chad Lane (Liza), Conner Lane; Brooke, Wesley and Wyatt Lane; Jordan Gleaton and Summer Rogers, and great-grandchildren, Carson and Logan Lane. He is also survived by his brother, Alston “Bubba” Lane; sister, Hazel Lee (Kenneth). He was a loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Anthony Lane; brothers, Charles Lane, Frances Lane; and sister, Judy Lewis.
