Patricia (O'Connor) Watford

Florence, SC – Katherine Patricia (“Patsy or Pat”) O’Connor Watford, 77, passed from this earthly life into her eternal life with Jesus Christ on Oct. 23, 2021.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 at high noon (12:00) at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Lamar.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  The family will be at the home of Ryan and Dawn Watford at other times, 314 Beaver Point Dr., Florence.

“Patsy” as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, was born in Florence County, daughter of the late John F. O’Connor, Sr. and Louise Wilson O’Connor.  She was a lifelong Florentine.  She was a 1962 graduate of McClenaghan High School. Patsy was a business-woman and co-owner of Central Electric & Rewinding, Inc. of Florence.  She was employed by Vulcraft Steel (Nucor Corp.) for many years.  Mrs. Watford was an avid bowler and golfer.  She belonged to the Country Club of SC, where she made two holes-in-one on the 7th hole.  She was an active member of The Church at Sandhurst, where she enthusiastically participated in the ladies Sunday School Class.  She loved all the ladies in her class.  She loved supporting the mission work of the church.  Patsy felt it was so important to reach out to a hurting world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Patsy will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an inspiring example of someone who found her peace, joy and strength in the Lord as she endured declining health.  Her courage, positivity, and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Her Christian faith and love for the Lord was evident and gives us all comfort knowing she is in Heaven.

She was married to the late Larry E. Watford.

Surviving are her son, Ryan (Dawn) Watford; grandchildren, Britteni (Armondo) Oropera, Josh Watford, Tyler Watford, Katie Watford; great-grandchildren, Marybella, Ava Mae, Armondo, Jr; brothers, John F. O’Connor, Joe O’Connor, Jim (B.J.) O’Connor; sisters, Edith O. (Larry) Lucas, Cecelia O. (Craig) Tabler; her adopted son, Steven Watford and family and 4 nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Watford Wratten.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Watford's Agape Caregivers, Janice Dixon and Alliston Taylor and the Care Giver Gang, close neighbors and dear friends.  The care and support are much appreciated.
