Florence, SC – Man Wah Myra Tong (previously) Rahenkamp, 64, went to her heavenly home on Friday, May 7, 2021 from injuries involving an auto accident.
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Florence.
Myra was born in Hong Kong, the daughter of the late, E. Lam Tong and Ya King Cheng and the youngest of 5 siblings (Errol, Annie, Stella and Peter).
Myra developed a passion for teaching while in Hong Kong and continued sharing with others when she moved to Florence. She was a Teacher in multiple ways; she taught the Chinese language, English as a second language, piano, crafts and so much more. She made friends quickly, volunteered, and enjoyed helping others, especially youth and young children in the Florence area. It was most important to her that everyone has the opportunity to accept Jesus Christ. “But God demonstates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
The family request that memorials be made to the Hispanic Church at Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 1021 Ebenezer Rd, Florence, SC 29501 or the House of Hope, 1020 W. Darlington Street, Florence, SC 29501.
