Mark Donald Meline died at the age of 60 on September 3, 2022. He was born in Hudson, Wisconsin on September 28, 1961 to Donald Earl Meline and Judith Emaline Meline. As a young man he excelled in academics and he enjoyed spending time at the family’s place on a southwest Florida island where he loved many outdoor activities, especially fishing. Mark loved music, attended many concerts, and was an excellent pianist.
After graduating high school, he attended the University of South Florida where he studied business. He started working in the grocery industry at the early age of 16, beginning his lifelong career in grocery store management. He was very dedicated to his profession. It was never a job, but a passion. It required long hours, but he did not mind. He loved his work as well as the people with whom he worked. He was a problem-solver and enjoyed a challenge. He was very popular with his customers and involved with helping the community. He worked with many charitable organizations and received many awards acknowledging his efforts.
Mark married his wife Dawn Marie Morse in Apollo Beach, Florida on February 19, 1993. He was ecstatic when their daughter Alexis came into their lives. He thoroughly enjoyed being a father. During his 29 years of marriage to his wife Dawn, after raising their daughter, they enjoyed traveling to and participating in dock dogs events, gardening, camping, and spending time outdoors. They also enjoyed breeding AKC Labrador retrievers. His favorite pastimes included golf and fishing. He especially enjoyed grilling outdoors and spending time with beloved family, friends and dogs.
He is preceded in death by his father Donald Meline, and his grandparents David and Edna Meline, and Martin and Myrtle Stelter. He is survived by his mother Judith Meline, wife Dawn Meline, daughter Alexis Meline, grandson Kayden Meline, sisters Lora (Denis) Healey and Leah (Ted) Nelms, his niece Ava Nelms, and nephews Connor, Kevin, and Garrett Healey.
Mark was a giving, smart, funny, dedicated, intelligent, loyal, hard-working, and honorable person. He was a son, grandson, father, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will live in the hearts and memories of multitudes of friends and family forever.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Lutheran Church of Incarnate in Florence, SC at 11:00 a.m.
