W. Columbia, SC – Lillian Kimbley “Kim” Palmer passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Graveside services for Lillian Kimbley (Kim) Palmer will be Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at Byrd Cemetery, Layton Drive, Timmonsville, SC.
Born in Camp LeJeune, NC, Kim was the daughter of Lt. Charles Keith Palmer and the late Diana Ashley Palmer. Kim spent her early years in Florence, SC where she attended James Burns Elementary, South Florence High School and later attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh, NC and the University of South Carolina. Kim was preceded in death by her twin brothers Boyd Palmer (1961-1976) and Ken Palmer (1961-2009).
Kim had a 40-year career with Todd & Moore of Columbia, SC, where she lived most of her adult live. Todd and Moore was like a family to her and continued to support her throughout her illness. Their kindness and grace were very special and so appreciated by Kim’s family. She often said how much she loved her work and the people she worked with. Special thanks to Todd & Moore for the opportunity they gave Kim and the never-ending love and support.
Kim is survived by her father, Charles Keith Palmer (Ann) of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister-in-law, Ellen Palmer of Charlotte, NC, nephews Duncan and Boyd Palmer of Charlotte, NC; cousins, Cammie Nettles McHugh of Davidson, NC, Jay Nettles of Spartanburg, SC and her beloved dogs, Britton and Kenzie, who were the loves of her life.
Kim had many amazing friends in her life who she loved like family. She had a heart of gold, never met a stranger, and touched the lives of so many. Kim was blessed to be surrounded by friends who checked on her, brought her food, fed her dogs, and embraced her through a community of love and understanding. Kim’s family is so grateful to those people who loved Kim and were there for her through her journey.
