Judy (Gore) Sereg

Judy Gore Sereg, 75, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023.

A memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Ms. Sereg was born in Marion County, the daughter of the late Alva Walter and Mattie Mae Boatwright Gore.  She was employed with Carolina Power and Light, in her early career and retired from Duke Energy as a Material Energy Specialist.

Judy enjoyed working in her garden and flowers as long as health permitted. She was lovingly called “Cleo” by her daughter and grandchildren.

Judy leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Wendy Hayes; brothers, Tony Gore, Butch Gore; her grandson, Joshua M. Hayes and great-grandchild, McKenzie Hayes.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Nicole Martin.
