Florence, SC – Johnny Jolly Poston, 79, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. A Celebration of life service will be Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Prosser Cemetery, 3359 Big Swamp Rd., Pamplico, SC.
Johnny was born in Florence County, the son of the late Lee Allen “Buster” and Ruby Elizabeth Poston. He was the prior owner of Hyman Drug Company in Pamplico. He worked in sales in the Washington, DC area for 15 years before moving back to Florence. Johnny was Past Master of the Pamplico Masonic Lodge and a member of the Pamplico Volunteer Fire Dept. He and his late wife were members of Florence Baptist Temple and attended until their health declined.
Johnny was married to the late Phyllis McGee Poston until her death on Feb. 28, 2018.
Surviving are daughters, Felicia Parker, Florence, Annette Poston, Horry County, Christie (Leigh) Franks, Australia, Thao Huynh, California; sister, Alice Bazen; brothers, Gerald (Gloria) Poston, Dan (Melba) Poston; eight (8) beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends and his special canine companion, “Chloe.”
Johnny is preceded in death by brothers, Larry, James Allen Poston, sister, Elizabeth and brother-in-law, Maxie Bazen.
Johnny and Phyllis will be interred together on Sunday.
