Timmonsville, SC – Jeffrey Darrell Phillips, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021 at McLeod Regional Hospital.
A visitation is planned for Sunday afternoon, December 19, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at his home at 302 W. Byrd Street, Timmonsville. The family asks that those attending please wear a mask.
Jeff was born in Florence County, the son of Belle "Boody" Morrison Phillips Smith and the late Claude Phillips. He worked in the new car dealership industry as a finance and insurance specialist. He was a member of the South Carolina National Guard from 1969-1975.
He graduated from Timmonsville High School in 1967 and Florence-Darlington Technical College with a 2 year business associate degree in 1969. He enjoyed playing sports and he said many times, “the people I played with made it good”. In his retirement, he enjoyed old movies of any type and watched the Food Channel learning new recipes. He showered people with his baked cookies, cakes and cobblers in both the medical community and in Timmonsville. Jeff was a true giver and was blessed with so many friends. As his last gift, Jeff requested that his body be donated to the MUSC Anatomical Gift Program for research.
Surviving are his mother,"Boody" ; brother, Donald (Ann) Phillips; sisters, Cynthia (Harold) Bridges, Betsy Langston along with his niece, Laura (Jack) Murphy; nephews, Phillip Langston, David (Val) Phillips, Stephen (Katie) Phillips; great niece, Bett Murphy, great nephews, Finn Murphy, Andy Phillips, Eli Phillips and Teddy Phillips. He is also survived by his faithful pet cat, “Goldie”.
