Florence, SC – James Willis Revell, 92, passed away peacefully June 29, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Ebenezer Baptist Church. The family will have a time of visitation Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.
Mr. Revell was born in Florence County, the son of the late Henry Ham and Mary Willis Revell. He served for 42 years in the National Guard. James Willis was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was a member of Benton Lodge #26 and was a Past Master in the Lodge. He loved gardening and working in his yard.
At the time of her death in April 2019, James Willis had been married to the love of his life Clara Webb Revell for 67 years.
Surviving are two sons, James Willis, Jr (Annie) Revell, Jeffrey H. (Laura) Revell; daughters, Joy Price, Julie (William) Hutchinson; sister, Elizabeth (Stewart) Lane and his grandchildren, Whitney (Jonathan) Wilke, Jenna (John) Bates, Courtney (Josh) Smith, Taylor (Caleb) Martin, Ryan (Marsha) Revell and four great-grandchildren and also Zoé his loving canine companion. He is preceded in death by a brother, Henry A. Revell.
