Jacquelyn (McKay) Corey

Columbia, SC – Jacquelyn McKay Corey, 88, peacefully passed away, Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist

Church, Timmonsville, SC.  The family will have a time of visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service at the church on Tuesday.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Social distancing will be observed and you are asked to wear your mask.

“Jackie” was born in Timmonsville, SC, the daughter of the late Thomas Walter McKay and Melba Earl Jones McKay.  She graduated salutatorian from Elim High School in 1950.  After her retirement as personnel manager from JC Penney in Columbia, Jackie was active in Real Estate Investments.

She was raised in Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church and was also a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church.  Jackie was greatly loved for her humor, smile, warm generosity and amazing birthday cakes. 

Jackie was married to the late Andrew Vose Corey who passed away 3/9/2020.

Surviving are her children, Van (Angie) White, Andrew (Tillie) White, Craig (Teri) White, Melba Teresa (Marc) Dobbs;  sister, Faye Severance; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.  Jackie is preceded in death by brothers, Thomas, Willie, Laverne McKay and sister, Betty Greer. She was first married to the late John Evander White, Sr, the father of her children.

Memorials may be made to Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church, 3234 S. Hill Rd, Timmonsville, SC  29161.
