Jack O. Huffman

Florence, SC – Jack Olas Huffman, 64, passed away peacefully Sunday July 25, 2021.

The family will have a time for visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services and burial will be in Bloomfield, Indiana on Saturday July 31, 2021, Bloomfield, Indiana.  The service will begin at 3:00 p.m.  Burial will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 to 3:00 prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Huffman was born in Shelbyville, Indiana, the son of the late Jack L. and Evangelist Ray Huffman. He was raised by Olas L. Huffman and “Jean” Huffman in Bloomfield, IN. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Doris Moody Huffman.  Jack was employed with Otis Elevator as a Senior Engineer for 45 years.

He was Past Master of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #84.  Jack was a referee and umpire for sports events throughout Southern Indiana for many years.  Jack was an officer of GSR and counselor within AA groups. He would have celebrated his 22nd year of sobriety on July 31st.  He was an avid fan of the rock group “KISS” and enjoyed refurbishing guitars.

Jack is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debra “Debbie” Stewart Huffman; three sons, Shane (Olivia) Huffman, Jared (Tiffany) Huffman, Justin (Emily) Huffman; sister, Lisa (Billy) Arnold; grandchildren, Darien (Drew) Gambill, Camryn (Cory) Deschamp, Amelia Huffman, Emmalynn Huffman, Micah Huffman; one great-granddaughter and two great –grandsons.
