Aubrey O. Smith, Sr.

Aubrey Odell (Smitty) Smith, Sr. 83 of Florence, SC passed away on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at MUSC Hospital in Camden, SC after an extended illness.

Mr. Smith was the son of the late William Aubrey and Ethel Odell Smith of Murrells Inlet, SC.

Mr. Smith is survived by his son Aubrey O. (Dell) Smith, Jr. and Donna Smith Florence, S.C., daughter Maria (Greg) Mull of Wake Forrest, N.C. , sisters Rebecca Mills of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Rachel(Joseph) Howell of Murrells Inlet, S.C. , brothers Marvin( Geraldine) Smith of Royston, GA. , Earl(Judy) Smith of Royston, GA.  Mr. Smith was blessed to have seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Smith, a son Robert Smith, a daughter Tamara Smith, a brother Ezra Smith and a grandson Jamie Meadows.

The family extends their gratitude to the Springdale Health Care of Camden, S.C. and to MUSC Hospital of Camden, S.C.  A special thank you to Meagan at Springdale for her compassion and care while caring for Mr. Smith.

Also a special thank you to all of his friends in the trucking community as well as the auctioneering community that he so loved being an auctioneer for. As he would say, “More miles to the biscuit", thank all of you.

Per Mr. Smith’s wishes there will be no memorial service.
