Annie Jo (Harrell) Watford

Timmonsville, SC - Annie Jo Harrell Watford, 95, died Friday July 9, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Timmonsville, SC.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will speak to those attending after the service.

She was born in Florence, SC to Albert Leslie Harrell Sr. and Grace Parker Harrell. She was the oldest of 4 and was preceded in death by her three brothers, Albert Leslie Harrell Jr., George Manning Harrell, and Charles Donald Harrell. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life Carl Ray Watford Sr., and recently lost her only son, Carl “Ray” Watford Jr.   Her family spared her the grief of Ray’s death, but she got a glimpse of him in Heaven just weeks before her death. What a blessing this is for all of her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Janice (Mike) Ward of Florence and Donna (Ben) Lynch of Lake City, along with her beloved daughter-in-law, Marsha Watford. She was the cherished “Nani” to 7 grandchildren - Chris Watford, Ashley (Eric) Watford, Grace Marie Ward, Michael (Stevie) Ward, Joshua (Heather) Ward, Carlie (Barry) Baxley, and Benjamin (Ashley) Lynch. Her later years she spent time at home enjoying her 9 great-grandchildren.  Her family was the sparkle in her eye. She was loved by all and will be missed so much.

Annie Jo became a member of Salem United Methodist Church of Timmonsville, SC when she married her husband in 1951. She served in many capacities, but her favorite was singing in the church choir.
