Timmonsville, SC – Willie Abner Rhodes, Jr, 69, died at the McLeod Hospice House on Thursday, October 6, 2016 after a long and courageous battle.

A memorial service will be Monday, November 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Florence, SC.

Willie was born in Columbia, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Willie A. Sr. and Lola Cahoon Rhodes. He served his country in the US Army. Willie was a long distance truck driver until his retirement.

Surviving are: his wife of Timmonsville, Carolyn Carter Rhodes; daughter, Billie Jo Rhodes; two sons, Billy Kevin Rhodes, Mark Allen Rhodes; two step-sons, Terry Leo (Shana) Welch, Mark Anthony Welch; a brother, Joseph Howard (Sheila) Rhodes; sister, Brenda R. Dickerman; eleven (11) grandchildren, one (1) great- grandchild, three (3) nieces and three (3) nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Michael T. Rhodes; sister, Karen R. Rizzuti.

Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto St. Florence is assisting the family with arrangements.
