Florence, SC – William F. "Bill" Gallagher, 85, passed away on Saturday afternoon Dec.9, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.

A time of visitation will be Tuesday, Dec.12, 2017 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr. Gallagher was born in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late William J. and Mary Agnew Gallagher.He was a veteran of the US Army.Before retiring,Bill worked with Union Carbide/Esab as a Chief Draftsman for 33 years.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Mary Hern Gallagher; a son, William J. Gallagher; two daughters,Susan DeSantis and her husband, Julius, Shannon Hobbs and her husband Gregory; a brother, Jack Gallagher and his wife Val and his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family ask that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N- Suite101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
