Mr. Wesley O'Neal Bateman, 63, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Born in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late Samuel Jeffords Bateman, Sr. and the late Eunice Hanna Bateman.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was a kindhearted man that would do anything to help anyone. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Suzanne Heniford Bateman; daughter, Raechel Crocker (Kenneth); brothers, Samuel J. "Sammy" Bateman, Jr.; Timmy Bateman (Angie); grandchildren, Gaitley, Dylan, Ava.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Bateman; sister-in-law, Gail R. Bateman.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Pisgah Methodist Church with Rev. Josh McLendon officiating. The directors of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home are caring for the family.
