Virginia Chaplin Rogers, 92, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Following the service the family will speak to friends in the Family Life Center of the Church.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Hartsville, SC, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Ruth Miller Chaplin. She worked until retiring at Belk Department Store. Jenny was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She served in the many programs and activities of the Church.

Surviving are; her husband of 70 years, Charles Fredrick Rogers, Sr, Florence; three sons. Fred (Wilda) Rogers, Paul T. Rogers, Rick (Debbie) Rogers; two brothers, Robert Chaplin, Billy Chaplin, both of Hartsville; grandchildren, Emily R. Hughes, Megan E. Belzer, Katherine R. Wainwright; great grandchild, Phillip Hughes,IV, Harper Elizabeth Wainwright. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Pressley Chaplin and a sister, Edith Conrad.
