Raleigh, NC- Virginia Alley Byrd, 79, formerly of Timmonsville died at her residence on July 2, 2015.

A funeral service will be Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at High Hill Baptist Church, Darlington. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the service at the Church.

Virginia was born in Wythe County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Kyle and Leota Williams Alley. She attended High Hill Baptist Church before moving to Raleigh. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, St, Andrews Chapter 271,Columbia, SC. Virginia retired from Wellman Industries as a frame worker.

Surviving are her children, Richard A. Byrd, Timmonsville; Marcia B. Lancaster, Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Carl (June) Alley, Austinville, VA, Danny K. (Phyllis) Alley, Ivanhoe, VA; sister, Nancy L. Shupe, Fries, VA; two grandchildren, John A.Jr. ( Suzie) White, Benjamin Byrd Cannon; sisters-in-law, Betty Alley, Barbara Alley, Micky Alley; extended family friends, Tom Johnson, Shannon Cousins all of Raleigh and Mary Evans, Darlington. She is preceded in death by four brothers, William, David, Richard and Wayne Alley and a sister, Claudine Lucas.
