Marion, SC - Violet Langston Morris, 97, formerly of Timmonsville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church.Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Violet was born in Florence County, SC, the daughter of the late Bernard LeRoy and Bessie Cole Langston.She was a member of Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church, the TEL Sunday School Class, and involved in many other activities of the church.

Surviving are a son,Jim H. Morris,Jr.,Oates Community; a daughter,Dianne (Marion) Edwards,Marion;four grandchildren,Richard (Lisa) Edwards,Cathy (David) Shaw,Mindy (J.D.) McInnis,Jammie (Dan) Griffin and her great-grandchildren,Mia Kilpatrick,Tilly Edwards,Ezri Griffin,Avi Griffin,Corbin Griffin;a sister-in-law,Ernestine Morris and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband,J. Herbert Morris, Sr.,two brothers,"Buddy" Langston,Blair Langston and a sister,Loleta Matthews.
