Timmonsville- Vermelle Folsom Strickland, 63, died in a local hospital on August 4, 2016.

A graveside service will be Monday, August 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Byrd Cemetery,Timmonsville. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, August 7, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Born in Florence County, Vermelle was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Mamie Jernigan Folsom.

She was married to the late Sidney L. "Buddy" Strickland.

Surviving are her children; Sidney Strickland, Timmonsville and Emily (Carl) Bate, Columbia; sisters, Brenda Dennis, Timmonsville, SC, Carol (Pete) Hickson, Monroe, NC.

She is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Johnny Dennis.
