Florence, SC – Charles Timothy "Tim" Tolson, received  his last call on Sunday, Oct.18, 2020.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church before the service.  A drop-in visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Social distancing will be observed at all times, you are asked to wear your mask.

Tim was born in Florence County, the son of the late Boyd Allen and Thelma Powell Tolson.  He was retired from Bellsouth Telephone with 30 years of service.  He served on the West Florence Fire Department and Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Department for a combined 44 years, Timmonsville Rescue Squad and worked with Cooks for Christ.  He enjoyed NASCAR Racing.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Dawn Ham Tolson; daughters, Tracey Tolson, Mandy (Wesley) Howell, step-daughter, Cybil Usher; step-son, John Braxton (Rachelle) Usher; Sister, Linda (Bobby) Turner; grandchildren, Caleb Howell, Adelaide Raye Usher, Emerson Leigh Usher, Eliza Anne Usher, Norah Paige and his nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by a brother, Don Tolson.
