Thomas Thornbrew 91, celebrated on Thursday morning October 2, 2025 as the Lord called him home.

Services will be Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Layton-Anderson Chapel in Florence, SC.  The family will speak to those attending after the service. A private interment will be held at Anderson Cemetery.

Thomas was born in Florence County, the son of the late Allard George and Lula Belle Kirby Thornbrew.  He served his country in the US Army.  Thomas retired from Dixie Cup as a Service Manager.  When he was not in his church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.  Family was very important to him.  He was active in his church work, attending Sparrow Swamp Baptist, I-20 Baptist and Oates Baptist Church.   He served as a choir director for years.  Many times, he worked to deliver food for fund raisers in the church.

He was first married to the late Ann Anderson Thornbrew and then to the late Lucille McLeod Thornbrew.

Surviving are step-son, Mike (Joyce) Cassidy; and his grandchildren, Robert Harris, Julia (Jim) Harris Wilkerson, Ashley Cassidy, Amy Cassidy and great-grandson, Will Wilkerson and many nieces and nephews.   He is preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Allard, Willard; sisters, Dorothy Floyd, Lizzie Jeffords, Maggie Lynch, Laney Defee, Eunice Brown; step-daughter, Eileen Cassidy Harris and her husband Bob.

The family would like to thank the Veterans Village of Florence for their love, care and compassion during his stay there.
