Timmonsville, SC – Thomas "Tom" Leon Johnson, 86, died Tuesday, May 09, 2017.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church. The family will speak to friends and family from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service at the church. A private entombment will take place at a later time in Smithfield, NC.

Mr. Johnson was born in Smithfield, NC, the son of the late Ike and Rosa Davis Johnson. He was a Chief Master Sergeant and Fire Chief in the USAF. As a private citizen, he was a Fire Chief in North Carolina. Tom was a member of Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church. He was a faithful worker in the church and was involved in many of the activities there.

He was first married to the late Mildred Todd Johnson.

Surviving are; his wife Lois Hester Johnson, Timmonsville; sons, John (Sherri) Johnson, Greenville, SC., Thomas Leon (Bridget) Johnson, Jr, Australia, Richard (Teresa) White, Scranton; daughters, Pam Payton, Tennessee, Cherise (Revere) Rayle, Lenoir, NC; two sisters, Muriel Tyler, Arkansas, Genevieve Waddell, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
