Obituary

Walterboro, SC - Thomas Everett Duncan, 92, formerly of Florence, died Monday, March 1, 2016 at the Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Highland Park United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Duncan was born in Hatchechubbee, Alabama, the son of the late Ollie Everett and Olive Devane Duncan. Tom served his country in the US Navy. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he went to work with E.I. DuPont and stayed with the Company until he retired. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. He sang in the church choir. Mr. Duncan sang in various Barber Shop Quartets, he was a member Florence Harmony Chorus. Tom was a member of the Golden Kiwanis of Florence.

Tom was married to the late Grace Duncan.

Surviving are two sons, Ted (Debbie) Duncan, Blythewood, SC, Mike (Rhonda) Duncan, Bluffton; two daughters, Pam (Denis) Brooks, Charleston, Karen( Bill) Phillips, Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Daniel Mitchum, Phillip Mitchum, Graham Baker, Cooper Baker, Brandon Nichols, Jonathan Duncan and Patrick Duncan.
