Theresa Ann Sanderford, 63, of Florence, SC, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Theresa was born in Florence County to the late James W. Sanderford and the late Sandra McElveen Sanderford. She was a member of Peniel Baptist Church. Theresa was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College and Florence Darlington Technical College with a nursing degree. She was a registered nurse for many years. She enjoyed collecting Coca Cola items and loved animals. She loved her great niece and nephews.

Surviving are her "like a mother," Barbara McElveen (Monroe); best friend, Phyllis Jordan (Jamie); very special friend, Roy Parnell; nephew, Eric Blaine Richardson (Abby); great-nephews, Daniel Paul Richardson, Brettley Milan Sprouse-Richardson; great-niece, Emma Jean Richardson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by "like a father," Linwood E. Tarte.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The Rev. David Shinault will officiate with burial to follow in Sansbury-Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a College fund for Daniel Paul Richardson and Emma Jean Richardson.
