Effingham, SC- Sybil Ann Lauderdale Dodd, 80, peacefully passed away Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017.

Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sparrow Swamp Baptist Cemetery, Timmonsville. The family will speak to friends and family from 3:00 to 4:00 pm before the service at the funeral home.

Sybil was born in Alabama, the daughter of the late Raymond and Annie Dodd Lauderdale. She was a member of Coward Baptist Church. Sybil was a seamstress with Oxford Textile before retiring.

She was married to the late Charles B. Dodd.

Surviving are a son, Paul (Leigh) Dodd; two daughters, Kathy (Jimmy) Matthews, Rita (Danny Ray) McLain; a brother, Lindberg Lauderdale; a sister, Freda (Lawson) Clark and three grandchildren, Jimmy Matthews III, Jeff Thomas, Wyatt Dodd; three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son, David Dodd; four brothers, Rembert, Bud, Gaylon, Wallace Lauderdale and three sisters, Betty Jo Stanley, Joyce Holder and Lois Lauderdale.

Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence is assisting the family With arrangements.
