Florence, SC – Staff Sgt. Barry Steven Hodges, Jr, 36, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.

A graveside service will be Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Florence National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive visitors at 1028 Oak Bend Lane, Florence from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.

Steven was born in Florence, SC, the son of Barry Steven and Frankie McNeill Hodges.He served in the US Marine Corps, with fifteen (15) years of service, including a tour in Iraq. Steven was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He lived for a time in New Bern, NC and was a coach and board member of the New Bern Youth Football and Cheer organization.

Surviving are his wife Jennifer Burr Hodges, Florence; two sons, Payton Ashton and Maddox Colton Hodges; three brothers, Nicholas Ryan (Val) Hodges, Florence, Dr Blake McNeill (Lindsay) Hodges, Greenwood, SC, Landon Thomas (Brittany) Hodges, Florence; paternal grandparents, Gladys and Charles "P-nut" Hodges, Florence, maternal grandmother, Sarah McNeill; two nieces and four nephews. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather George McNeill.
