It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Malory Hancock, a beloved father, brother, and friend. Born on March 14th, 1952, in Pamplico, South Carolina, Stephen departed this life on Monday, June 8th, 2026.

Stephen served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, a testament to his patriotism and love for this nation. After his military service, Stephen pursued a career as a Sales Manager at Big A Auto Sales, from which he retired after many years of devoted service. 

Stephen leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted son, Dustin Giffin, his sister, Martha Fluke, along with her husband Greg, and his caregiver, Mandy Hancock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ivy Hancock and Buena Elizabeth Stephens, as well as his sister, Hilda Jean Drummond.

A funeral service celebrating Stephen’s life will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026, in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation one hour prior to the service at 11 AM. Following the service, Stephen will be laid to rest at 2 PM at the National Cemetery.
