Sonya Renee Prendergast, 60, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Born in Florence SC, she was the daughter of the late Berlwyn Lee "Sonny" Turner and the late Carole Scarborough Turner. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed going to yard sales. She will be missed dearly.

Surviving are her brother, Scott Turner (Donna); nieces, Taylor Brown (Matthew), Katherine Kirven; nephews, Kevin Cottingham, Luke Kirven; uncle, Tommy Scarborough (Boots); great-nephew, Turner Brown, great-niece, Logan Brown; sister-in-law, Maggie Kirven (Glenn); brothers-in-law, Wayne McKay (Connie), Edward Prendergast (Michelle).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Prendergast.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at the Layton-Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
