Lamar, SC – William Sidney Gibbs, 72, died in a Hartsville Hospital on February 13, 2016.

Funeral services will be Monday,February 15, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Oates Baptist Church, Oates, SC. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery. The family will speak to those in attendance from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. before the service at the church.

Mr. Gibbs was born in Lynchburg, SC, the son of the late James Carlisle and Maxie McGee Gibbs.He was a member of Oates Baptist Church. Sidney was a contract plumber.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Shirley Harris Gibbs, Lamar; two daughters, Missy Hanson, Amy (Tyron) Akahori; a brother, Jimmy (Josephine) Gibbs, a sister, Louise Britt ; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Billy Gibbs and brothers,Donnie Gibbs and Robert Lee Gibbs.
