Shirley Joiner Boney, age 86, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Canton, Georgia. She was born on September 18, 1939, in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Joe and Nettie Joiner.

Shirley loved her family deeply and was an amazing, devoted mother. She was known for her sassy, spunky, and fun-loving personality, along with a wonderful sense of humor that brought smiles to those around her. She also dearly loved her dog, Shae Shae, who was a constant and cherished companion for many years.

Shirley's vibrant spirit, loving heart, and unforgettable personality will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Boney; her son, Kenneth "Kenny" Marinello; and six brothers and three sisters. Shirley is survived by beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Sosebee Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Entombment will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026 at Florence Memorial Gardens in Florence, South Carolina.
