Sarah Dillon Howett, 96, died in the hospice house on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will speak to those attending beginning at 2:00 prior to the service.

Mrs. Howett was born in Columbia, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Dallas and Coatney Alexander Dillon. She was a member of Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church.

She was 1st married to the late Otis L. Godwin and then to the late Orville A.Howett.

Surviving are daughters, Dale Glenn, Florence, Glenda J. (Roydon) Reaves, Montgomery, Alabama, Karen (Pat) Kinlaw, Glen Allen, VA; son, Jeff (Daryl) Howett, LeGrange, NC; grandchildren, Beth Rouse, "Bo" Godwin, Sherri (Kevin) Sandlin, Terri Ann Gunnells, Terry (Laura) Prosser, Lisa (Wallace) Chavis, Teresa (Lanneau) Cooper, Kimberly (Paul) Creech, Jeff (Leigh) Glenn and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons, Dwight E. and Edison Godwin and daughter Ellen Paige Rutrough.
