Timmonsville, SC – Sammie L. Yarborough, Jr, 87, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021.

A graveside service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church, Timmonsville.  The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Mr. Yarborough was born in Florence County, the son of the late Sammie L Yarborough, Sr and Rean Cole Yarborough.  He served for a time in the US Army.  Sammie was a farmer in the Florence County Community for all of his life.  He was involved with the Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Dept. and Timmonsville Rescue Squad.  He enjoyed his affiliation with the Darlington Race Track for more than 15 years as the Track Superintendent.  He was  active during his working  careers as a Crop-Duster.

Sammie was married to the late Patsy Hill Yarborough.

Surviving are a son, Craig (Renee) Yarborough; daughter, Cindy (David) Truluck; sister, Judy (Don) Young; his three grandsons and 2 great-grandsons.
