Florence, SC. – Samuel Jeffords Bateman, Sr, 88, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Pisgah United Methodist Church. The family will have a time for visitation beginning at 2:00 before the service at the church.

Jeff was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Louis Albert and Mildred Jeffords Bateman. He served in the National Guard. He was retired from ESAB as a Supervisor. Jeff was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church, Florence, SC.

Surviving are three sons, Sammy (Gayle) Bateman, Wesley (Suzanne) Bateman, Tim Bateman; two brothers, Billy Bateman, Tommy Bateman; sister, Mildred Lewis.  He is preceded in death by a brother, Bubba Bateman.
