Rushell Lee Rogers, 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening at her home surrounded by her family.

A Graveside Service will be Friday July 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will host a visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

Born in Florence County, Rushell was the daughter of the late Perliss and Lelia Lynch Lee.  She was the secretary/bookkeeper for Roses Variety Store until she retired.  Rushell owned L&R Ceramics for 10 years.

Before his death, Rushell was married to Leon J. Rogers for more than 66 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Marie (Robbie) Matthews, Wanda Rogers, Becky Driggers; two sisters, Joan Matthews, Bonnie Reynolds; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two special little grandchildren, Dalton and Braxton McDuffie and her canine companions.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Alma McKay and brother, Frank Lee.
