Ronald Lee "Ron" Strother, 78, entered into rest on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Born in Florence County SC , he was the son of the late Curtis Evander Strother and the late Miriam Hatchell Strother.

He was a longtime member of Sardis Baptist Church. Ron served in the United State Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from AT&T after many years as a line technician. He served on the Sardis-Timmonsville Fire Department for many years. Ron was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and work in his garden. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He will be missed dearly.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Barbara Ingle Strother; stepson, David Baldwin; grandchildren, Jessica Coble, Amber Simpson; sisters, Sabra Strother Rabon (Andrew), Anna Strother Everhart (Guy); brother, David C. Strother (Sarah); sister-in-law, Vicki C. Strother; nephews, Caleb Strother (Mary Katherine), Timothy S. Everhart; nieces, Sherri S. Kenyon (Kevin), Kimberly S. Collins, Ashley E. Sexton (Mont); 9 great-grandchildren; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Spencer Strother.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15th, 2026, at Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. Burton Welch and the Rev. Dr. Thomas Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
