Robert "Frank" McLaughlin, 73, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Born in Florence SC, he was a son of the late Robert Benjamin McLaughlin and the late Virginia Langston Broadbelt.

Frank was a devoted member of Lake Swamp Baptist Church, where he attended with steadfast faith. A hardworking provider, Frank retired after dedicating many years to DuPont and operating a well drilling business. He found his greatest joy in his family and the outdoors, particularly when tending to his garden or riding his tractor.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ada Clark McLaughlin; sons, Craig McLaughlin (Kimberly), Carey McLaughlin (Christy); daughter-in-law, Michelle McLaughlin; grandchildren, Kelsey Lane (Kevin), Robbie "Rob" McLaughlin, Taylor Driggers (Landin), Hunter McLaughlin, Emma Kate McLaughlin, Carly McLaughlin; great-grandchildren, Logan Lane, Hudson Driggers; brother, George McLaughlin (Carol); sister, Flora Hill (Richard).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved son, Benjamin Frank McLaughlin.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6th, 2026 at Lake Swamp Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Joe Willard and the Rev. Steve Reynolds will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Lake Swamp Baptist Church of Timmonsville, SC in honor of Robert Frank McLaughlin.
