Conway- Henry Richard "Ricky" Thomas, 72, formerly of Florence, died peacefully at his home with his family on Sunday evening December 27, 2015.

A memorial service will be Sunday, January 3,2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service until 4:30 p.m.

Mr. Thomas was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Henry J. and Deane McMillan Thomas. Ricky graduated from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science as a Funeral Director-Embalmer. He was employed with Layton-Perry Funeral Home in Timmonsville for nine years. He went to work with A Q Mills Industries of Timmonsville as an electrician. Ricky spent his later years in Conway. He was associated with the Cowboys Action group of Conway. He attended Carolina Forest Community Church. Ricky enjoyed music, dancing and riding horses.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Carol Houser Thomas of Conway; a son, Rick Thomas, Jr, Florence; two daughters, Kimberly T. (Brian) Gaughn, Dana Thomas (Bo Kimery) all of Conway; a brother, Scott (Vickie) Thomas, Florence; two sisters, Lynette (Stan) Gaddy, Vicki (Vaughn) Clarke all of Florence and four grandchildren, Josh Anderson, Zade Stenback, Keris Stenback and Abby Rogers. He is preceded in death by a sister, Pam Latshaw.
