Obituary

Florence- Richard Dana "Ricky" Mixon, 58, died suddenly on Jan. 9, 2017.

Funeral services will Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery in Timmonsville. The family will have a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral Home.

A beautiful start to a tragic ending. Ricky was born in Florence County, the son of Marion Mixon and Patricia Hollmon Holland. He was retired from the US Air Force with 20 years of service. He currently worked with the Yahnis Company of Florence as a Salesman. Ricky was a member of Hampton Lodge #204, the Omar Temple and the local H.O.G. Chapter. Ricky believed in family, hard work and doing for others. He touched so many lives in such a short time. It was an honor to know him. He is irreplaceable and will be forever in our hearts and homes.

Surviving are: his wife, soulmate and the love of his life, Holly Isgett Mixon; his father and step-mother, Marion and Virginia Mixon, mother and step-father, Patricia and John Holland; a son, Marion Paul Mixon, Florence; Gina Altman, a special niece who he loved as a daughter; a brother, Mike (Robin) Mixon, step-brother, Eugene (Sally) Hammons; a sister, Tammie (Ray) Stevens, Florence, step-sisters Betty Jo (Harold) Jordan, Brenda (Chip) Blackwell, and a special aunt, Patricia Hardee, a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; grandchildren, Mason and Walker Altman, many nieces and nephews, and his pets, Max and Billie Jean.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Mixon.
