Timmonsville, SC- Ralph Monroe Strickland, 79, died Monday evening May 15, 2017.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Byrd Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ralph was born in Florence County, the son of the late Maxie Willie and Eleanor Lynch Strickland. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Ralph was a Foreman with Davey Tree Company.

He was married to the late JoAnne Howard Strickland.

Surviving are two sons, Wyndall R. (Karen) Strickland, Florence, Johnny M. Strickland, Effingham; sisters, Janie Lou (Doug) Lovelace, Valerie Lee, Mary Alice Hunt; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by brothers, Ray, Don, Cecil, Wayne, Carlyle, Ronnie, Lenward Strickland.

Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC is assisting the family with arrangements. The family will be at 3260 James Turner Road at other times.
