Timmonsville, SC –  Paul Welch, Sr., 84, joined our heavenly father on Nov. 18, 2022.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. before the service at the Funeral Home.

Paul was born in Clarendon County, SC, the son of the late Henry Pelton, Sr. and Emma Stuart Welch.

Paul was a country boy through and through, who loved riding his golf cart around his "Ranch".  He loved talking on his CB radio for hours on end and could not be bothered when "feasting" on country barbeque.  He had a larger than life personality and was known to tell a tall tale or two just for fun.  Above all, he loved Jesus Christ who he accepted as his Lord and Savior for all eternity.  He will be missed beyond measure by his  children and all who loved him.  He worked at Vulcraft/ Nucor Steel for 28 years.

Surviving are a son, Paul (Lisa) Welch, Jr;  daughters, Tammy Taylor, Cherokee (Stacy) Welch; four grandchildren, Hunter (Kaylee) Welch, Hannah Welch, Gabe and Alex Upton-Welch, one great-grandchild, Wyatt; brother, Leo Welch.  He is preceded in death by siblings, June, Monroe, Ruby Gibbs, Beulah Evans, Coit, H.P. and Lelondus.
