Florence - Carolyn Patricia "Patsy" Rogers, age 78, of Florence, went to her eternal home with her Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 26th 2015.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Florence. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, Florence.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Henderson, NC, the daughter of the late Cleburn Paul and Mary Lucille Bennett Rogers. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Florence, SC. She graduated from Lake City High School in 1955 and then went on to graduate from Carolina College of Commerce. Mrs. Rogers worked at Stephenson Finance for 7 years, then was very involved at Royal School with her two children. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union for 47 years and a member of the Good News Sunday School class at First Baptist. She was owner and operator of Patsy's of Florence for 14 years, where she made so many good friends. She enjoyed being a "Granny" to Zack and Killian whom she loved and adored immensely.

Patsy had a passion for life and enjoyed every single moment of it. She never met a stranger that didn't become her friend. She spent her entire life taking care of others and always gave of her time unselfishly. She loved her family unconditionally. Granny cherished every moment with her grandson Zack, her little buddy. They made memories that will last a lifetime. Patsy was always able to see the good in everyone, and was able to keep a positive attitude even in the difficult times. She brought out the good in people and could encourage and uplift you in your despair. She loved God, her family, her friends and her church. She will truly be missed by everyone who has ever met her. We know that she is smiling down from heaven upon us. She wouldn't want us to be sad, instead she would want us to share wonderful memories and stories, laugh and love each other. Life is about living, and Patsy lived every day of her life and our lives are blessed because she did.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Edgar A Rogers of the home, daughter Tammy (Jack) Field of Florence, SC; son, Randy (Kristy) Rogers of Boiling Springs, SC; grandsons, Zachary Taylor Rogers and Killian McKenzie Budlong of Boiling Springs, SC; brother Paul Rogers of Opp, Alabama; sister, Mary (Fred) Morell of Greensboro, NC.
