On Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024 Benjamin "Ben" Frank McLaughlin heard his Lord say, "Enter my Good and Faithful Servant,  job well done."

Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at Lake Swamp Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will have a time of visitation Friday evening at the church from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Ben was born in Florence County, the son of Robert Frank and Ada Clark McLaughlin.  He served in the ministry for 27 years and was Senior Pastor at Lake Swamp Baptist Church for the last 11+ years.  He had an unrelenting passion to see the lost come to know the Lord as Savior and minister to his church family.  At Lake Swamp he worked along with church members to foster growth and share the love of Jesus with community. Ben loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family and spending time on the lake.

Survived are his parents; his wife and love of his life for 25 years, Michelle Atkinson McLaughlin; son, Hunter McLaughlin; daughter, Emma Kate McLaughlin; brothers, Craig (Kimberly) McLaughlin, Carey (Christy) McLaughlin, in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
