Florence, SC – Orville F. "Dusty" Downey, Jr., 75, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019.

Funeral services will be Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home.  Visitation will follow the service until 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville, SC.

"Dusty" was born in Florence County, the son of the late Orville F. Downey, Sr. and Bernice Stone Privette Moody.  He worked for ESAB testing equipment beforeretiring.  He enjoyed photography, hunting and was an avid Clemson Fan.  He attended Abundant Life Church.

He was married to the late Myrtle "Rene" Allen Downey.

Surviving are a brother, James (Stojana) Downey; niece, Leisel (Tony) Allenczy; nephew, Alexander Downey; great- niece, Courtney (Marion) Gainey, and great-nephew, Christopher Allenczy and a very special sister-in-law, Mary Spivey.
