Timmonsville, SC – Norman Stanley Atkinson, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 following an illness.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Byrd Cemetery in Timmonsville, SC. A time of visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Atkinson was born in Florence County, the son of the late James and Janie Mae Watford Atkinson. He was a foreman with Sumter Utilities before retiring.

Surviving are his wife of thirty-five years, Kathy Watts Atkinson; his children, Jeffery Atkinson, Craig Atkinson, Robbie Atkinson, Vernon Atkinson, Stanley Atkinson and Wayne Feagin; brother, J.W. (Rita) Atkinson; sister, Judy (Jimmy) Hopkins and a number of grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Atkinson and two sisters, Mary Anna Powell and Gladys Alexander.
