Nettie Mae Nelson Austin, 81, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 in Florence surrounded by family.

Graveside Services will be Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Bay Branch Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will speak to those attending after the service.

Nettie was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of the late Charles and Ila Thompson Nelson.  She was a member of Palmetto Street Church of God.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jack L. Austin, to whom she was married for 62 years. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Jimmy Nelson, her son, Bryan E. (Becky) Austin; five grandchildren, Casondra Adamson, Nichole Weatherholtz, Bruce Oliver, Amber Grant and Ansley Austin; two great-grandchildren, Emily Martinez and Sophia Weatherholtz.   She is preceded in death by siblings, Gail, Tommy, Damon and her beloved daughter, Bambi Theresa Parnell.
