Muriel L. Pigate, 79, entered into rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Sparrow Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Layton-Anderson Funeral Home is serving the family.

Born in Timmonsville, she was the daughter of the late Zoe Lamay Morris and the late Louise McGee Morris.

Muriel loved being outside, especially tending to her flowers in her yard.  She worked for many years at Sanders Memorial/Florence General Hospital as well.

Surviving are her husband, Ray Pigate; daughter, Kim Welch (William); son, Bryan Pigate (Jennifer); sisters, Ethel Morris, Pearl Norris; grandchildren, Zoie Welch, Jordan Pigate, Bryson Pigate; a special sister-in-law, Helen Morris, who was like her sister;  a special niece, Teresa Morris Gibbons who was like a daughter to her and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry Morris, Lanier Morris; sisters, Rebecca Mathis and Betty Williams.
