Florence - Muriel Griffin Mullen, 91, died early on April 11, 2015 in a Florence Hospital.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will speak to relatives and friends after the service at the Funeral Home. Her ashes will be placed at the National Cemetery beside her late husband.

Muriel was born in Bergen, New York, the daughter of the late Herbert James and Susie Quinn Griffin. Before moving to Florence, SC to be near her family, Muriel was a resident of Utica, NY. She was employed with Rogers Bros. Fabric for 19 years before retiring.

She was married to the late Paul Joseph Mullen, Sr.

Surviving are two sons, Paul J. "P.J." (Ruth) Mullen, Fayetteville, NC, Gene (Chris) Mullen, Smyrna, DE; three daughters, Judy (Benny) Inman, Effingham, SC, Suellen ( Randy) Trader, Florence, Audrey (James) Nathan, Simsbury, CT; a brother, Tom (Grace) Delaney, Lancaster, a sister, Dorothy (John) Gregory, Effingham; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Layton-Anderson Funeral Home, 4210 W. Palmetto Street, Florence is assisting the family with arrangements.
