Mildred Hanczaryk, age 96, widow of Andrew Hanczaryk, died November 22, 2025. Mildred was born May 21,1929 in the Pleasant Grove area of Sumter County, South Carolina, a daughter of Cecil and Ada Phillips, both deceased. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in Florence Memorial Gardens, Florence, South Carolina.

Mildred graduated from Sherwood High School as valedictorian, attended Columbia College, and completed a course in Title Law. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at law offices in South Carolina and Miami, Florida and by a newspaper in Miami, Florida. After her marriage, she was employed by a newspaper in Massachusetts; Mildred later owned Blueberry Realty after completing studies in real estate. Due to her husband's employment, he was transferred to New York City, and the family moved to New Jersey. She was then employed by a law firm in Denville, New Jersey. She wrote eight novels.

Due to her husband's employment transfers, she was a member of three different churches. She served as Sunday school teacher in Massachusetts and New Jersey and as a member of church council in New Jersey. She contributed to and served in various capacities for many charities in New Jersey and Massachusetts and was Cub Scout leader in both states.

Mildred is predeceased by her husband, Andrew Hanczaryk; her grandson Sean Hanczaryk; three brothers, Rufas Phillips, Carl Phillips, Ellie Hugh Phillips; and two sisters Lillie Mae Kinard, and Roberta Prasco.

Mildred is survived by two sons: Paul Hanczaryk (Carolyn) of Frenchtown, New Jersey and Philip Hanczaryk (Mia) of Richmond, Virginia. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Daniel Hanczaryk and Samantha Hanczaryk; and nine nieces and nephews
