Florence, SC – Mildred Malone Compton, 91, passed away of Nov. 1, 2021.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Florence Memorial Gardens.  The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. before the service at Florence Memorial Gardens.

Mildred was born in Lawrence County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Archie and Mildred Salyer Malone. This was a remarkable, loving lady that enjoyed life, friends, family and keeping herself busy.  At age 90, a Birthday Celebration was hosted in her honor by Payton Davis and Kristy Douglas of the Lady's Only Fitness World at the Staybridge Hotel in Florence.  At this age attended the exercise sessions daily.  She was gifted as an Artist, seamstress, quilter, she enjoyed baking and cake decorating.  Gardening and working with her roses and hydrangeas was a passion.   Mildred would try many different expressions, such as taking a course in brick laying.

She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Lois (Tommy) Hewitt, Rita (Michael) Hartzog, Jane (Larry) Davis; sister, Nancy Adams, three grandchildren, Todd Hewitt, Jamie Ogletree, David Hartzog; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
